73 million meters or 73 thousand kilometers. A lot considering the fact that the earth’s circumference is only slightly over 40 thousand kilometers. This number may seem even more unlikely when we refer to the amount of fabric produced. Achievement of such a result was declared in 1975 by the crew of BZPB „Fasty” – a gigantic textile factory located in north-eastern Poland. It was the peak of the facility’s possibilities, which was established in 1953 under the watchful eye of Soviet consultants. After the collapse of the socialism in Poland, dozens of the largest textile factories did not survive the so-called privatization period. We’re back to the starting point.
